Regional Centre


 The achievements of the RC are:

1. Growth of Learner Support Centres

  • The network of learner support centres in all categories has expanded from 29 to 45. This reflects a growth of 55% .
  • Special Study Centre exclusively for Jail inmates established in District Jail, Meerut (2010) .
  • Established Two LSCs exclusively for women i.e. RG (PG) college, Meerut & Ginni Devi Girls PG College, Modi Nagar.

2. New Programmes Activated

  • 29 new programmes have been activated at different levels, i.e., P.G. Degree, P.G. Diploma, P.G. Certificate, U.G. Degree, Diploma, Certificate and Awareness since establishment of the Regional Centre.
  • Total number of programmes activated till December, 2013 in the region is 106.

3. Orientation and Training Programmes/Workshops/Meetings

  • Orientation programme of academic counselors through tele conferencing on 19/10/2013.
  • Second Coordinators’ meeting on 16/02/2013.
  • Orientation programme of academic counselors (face to face) on 6th & 7th October, 2012
  • One day Orientation Programme for functionaries of new LSCs was organized at the RC on 24th March 2012
  • Two days Orientation Programme was organized for academic counselors of MCA, BCA, CIT of RCs Aligarh, Delhi 1, Delhi 2, Delhi 3, Karnal and Noida on 17th and 18th September 2011.
  • First Meeting of Coordinators and Programme-in-Charges of the region was organized on 10th September 2011.
  • Hindi Diwas was observed in the RC on 14th September 2011. Prof. V.R. Jagannathan, Former Director, School of Humanities, IGNOU was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

4. Examinations

  • Smooth conduct of On – Demand Examination during the period January – June, 2012.

5. Others

  • Successfully organized month long UID (Aadhar) enrolment camp.

6. Good Practices

  • SMS alerts service used for providing information to students regarding submission of RR forms, collection of study materials, B.Ed./M.Ed.Counseling, Teleconference programmes and other important activities.
  • Dispatch of study materials to learners of computer programmes through respective learner support centres.
  • Collection of study material in person by 60% learners for most programmes from the RC stores.
  • On the spot resolution of student grievances related to correction in name, address, elective subjects, medium opted, change of RC/SC
  • Response is sent to all student queries received through post, email, fax and written applications.
