Achievements

The achievements of the RC are:

 

1. Growth of Learner Support Centres

  • The network of learner support centres in all categories has expanded from 29 to 67. This reflects a growth of 131%.
  • Special Study Centre exclusively for Jail inmates established in District Jail, Meerut in 2010, and Ghaziabad (Dasna) and Noida (Kasna) in 2016.
  • Three LSCs established exclusively for women i.e. RG (PG) college, Meerut, Ginni Devi Girls PG College, Modi Nagar and A. K. Girls P.G. College, Hapur.

 

2. New Programmes Activated

  • 30 new programmes have been activated at different levels, i.e. P.G. Degree, P.G. Diploma, P.G. Certificate, U.G. Degree, Diploma, Certificate and Awareness since establishment of the Regional Centre.
  • Total number of programmes activated till August 2019 in the region is 145.

 

3. Orientation and Training Programmes/Workshops/Meetings

  • One day Orientation Programme for functionaries of new LSCs on 24th March 2012.
  • Two days Orientation Programme for Academic Counselors of MCA, BCA, CIT of RCs Aligarh, Delhi 1, Delhi 2, Delhi 3, Karnal and Noida on 17th and 18th September 2011, MAH Counsellors on 16th and 17th September, 2016 and B.Sc. (Life Sciences) counsellors on 21st and 22nd October, 2016.
  • Training of Digital India volunteers on 18th January, 2017.
  • Training workshops of CSC workers in 2017 and 2018.
  • Six Annual Meetings of Coordinators and Programme Incharges (PICs) till 2018 and three Brainstorming sessions with select Coordinators/PICs in 2015, 2016 and 2019.
  • National Seminar on ICT Support for Inclusive Digital Learning on 21st and 22nd April, 2017.

 

4. Outreach Programmes

  • On the spot enrolment camp for weaver community at village Singhauli Ahir, Baghpat District on 2nd April, 2017.
  • Awareness programme and spot admission camp for Weaver Community and SC/ST in collaboration with IGNOU LSC at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial P.G. College, Sambhal (SC Code-47040) on 16th May, 2018.
  • Educational awareness camp for transgenders in collaboration with three local NGOs namely, Basera Samajik Sansthan, India HIV/AIDS Alliance and Samarth Community Clinic on 26th June, 2018. 56 transgenders participated in the programme and 43 students from this community enrolled in various programmes.
  • Establishment of an exclusive Programme Study Centre for agriculture science programmes at Ch. Chhotu Ram PG College, Muzaffarnagar (IGNOU PSC Code-39033P) and educational awareness programme during inaugural function of IGNOU Programme Study Centre on 27th July, 2018.
  • Educational awareness camp at newly established IGNOU Study Centre at Vijay Singh Pathik Government PG. College, Kairana, District-Shamli (SC Code-39036) on 28th January, 2019.
  • Awareness camp for CRPF staff by IGNOU RC Noida in collaboration with IGNOU Study Centre at Govt. Raza PG. College, Rampur (IGNOU LSC Code-27127) on 8th February, 2019.

 

5. Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

  • Village – Bhatiana, District - Hapur has been adopted by Regional Centre, Noida under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan in order to determine possibilities of implementing various activities under this scheme in this village.
  •  Activities organized at the village include Educational Awareness Camp and Free Health Check-up in collaboration with Indian Association of Clinical Cardiologists (IACC) and MAX Hospital, Vaishali on 8th April, 2017, Vigilance Awareness programme under the banner “Eradicate Corruption – Build A New India” on 31st October, 2018, Tree Plantation Drive on 30th November, 2018 and 29th August, 2019 and educational awareness programme at Junior High School, Bhatiana on 26th February, 2019.

 

6. Good Practices

  • SMS alerts service used for providing information to students regarding online submission of RR forms, collection of study materials, B.Ed. Counseling, Teleconference programmes and other important activities.
  • Distribution of study materials to learners through respective learner support centres outside NCR.
  • On the spot resolution of student grievances related to correction in name, address, elective subjects, medium opted, change of RC/SC
  • Response is sent to all student queries received through post, email and written applications.
