Dr Amit Chaturvedi

Dr. Amit Chaturvedi holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics and pursued M.Com. in Accountancy and Law from Agra  University Agra and now renamed as Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra. Dr. Chaturvedi has also done MBA in Financial Management and Master Degree in Distance Education (MADE) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Dr. Chaturvedi is presently working as the Regional Director at IGNOU Regional Centre, Noida. He had joined IGNOU in December 1992 as an Assistant Regional Director at IGNOU Regional Centre, Lucknow & has more than 28 years of experience in Open and Distance Learning (ODL). He has published many Research Papers in National and International journals of repute and has been actively involved in writing research reports, Self Learning Material (SLM) of IGNOU. Dr. Chaturvedi has also attended National & International Conferences/Seminars in various capacities and delivered the special lectures.  Number of times periodically Dr Chaturvedi was invited by Doordarshan /All India Radio Lucknow, Varanasi & Bhopal to participates in Academic debates and deliver the talks/interviews on the various academic issues.   He interacts with Distance Learners through Gyanvani and through Interactive Radio Counseling (IRC) too. Dr Chaturvedi served IGNOU Regional centers –Lucknow, Varanasi, Aligarh, Bhopal, Delhi-2 and Noida as Regional Director.
 
Two books namely “Open and Distance Learning in India: Challenges and Prospects” and “Emerging Dimensions of Higher Education through Open and Distance Learning” in his credit.  He conducts training sessions for Coordinators, Assistant Coordinators, Academic Counselors, examination centre superintendents, observers and other functionaries of the Learners Support Centres and examination centres in the field of ODL system and modalities of examination. He is actively involved in guiding distance learners through counseling sessions organized on finance and account related issues. He has also supervised dissertations of MBA students pertaining to finance and accounts and evaluated many Ph.D. thesis of various Universities. His area of interest is in the field of education administration, student support service, supervision and maintenance of LSCs. Year 2017, Dr. Chaturvedi has successfully organized two days National Seminar “Tourism and Hospitality India: Challenges, potential, possibilities and new dimensions” on 15 & 16 September 2017 at IGNOU Regional Centre, Bhopal.  Large number of Research Papers and Abstracts were received during the National Seminar from the Scholars and Researchers of various Universities.
